Stayed last weekend for 1 night and will definitely use this place again very clean and finished to a very high standard, lots of little extras that make all the difference and a very friendly host in George, nothing was any trouble, any one thinking of a place to go when the racing is on look no further an ideal location.

If you are heading to York, stay here!! We arrived on a Sunday evening and were shown to an absolutely stunning room (the Primrose Room, 1 dbl & 1 sg), having booked on booking.com that morning. We were so delighted that we decided to stay the following night too. George was welcoming and friendly, as all of the other reviewers found. The little touches make all the difference: fresh milk, luxurious bedlinen and towels, bathrobes, fresh flowers etc and George cooks a great breakfast. The bus stop into York is just outside, and we ate both evening meals at the Fox and Roman pub two doors down. A great stay, 5 stars!!

This is our first time at the Burswood but it will not be the last, Clean, Tidy, Homely. This was the best nights sleep I had. The breakfast is spectacular. George the owner is a wonderful, friendly guy who makes you feel welcome instantly. We stayed in the Garden room and it was pure luxury. Well done George, you made our weekend brilliant.

We enjoyed a short weekend away in York, staying at the Burswood guest house. We received a very warm welcome from George who showed us upto our room- the Rose suite. It was very lovely and spotlessly clean. The extra little finishing touches like fresh milk, bottled water and some chocolates were great, and the nice soap and hand cream etc make all the difference too. The bed in the room was very comfortable to sleep in and we went down to enjoy breakfast in the conservatory seeing the birds come to feed the next morning. The breakfast was sooo nice, probably the nicest smoked salmon and scrambled egg i've had!

We've just had a wonderful 4 night stay here. A wonderful B&B. Homely, clean and everything that you want. George was a fantastic host, and his breakfast will be hugely missed.
We stayed in the Orchid room with our 5 year old daughter.
We took the bus into town eachtime as there was a bus stop just outside the house.

Me and my girlfreind recently had a long weekend in York and stayed over at the burswood, we both found the stay fantastic. We stayed in the rose room, which although expensive was lovely, the service was verry personal and extremely helpful. It would also be a terrible shame not to mention the fantastic fresh breakfast on offer, poached eggs... Fantastic!
