Burswood Guest House was built in 1960 for an eminent retired Captain who owned and ran a company that had hundreds of tracked and wheeled trucks which transported the British Army long before they had their own vehicles. His company was called 'The Artillery Transport Company' and all the vehicles were eventually commandeered into the British army in the 1930's. His name was Captain Riley and whilst he passed away long before we knew of him, we bought the house in 1988 from his widow. Time has moved on and the house has had one or two extensions since then, the latest of which was in 2005 when we decided to add two more rooms and turn it into a Guest House. It now has two floors and 7 bedrooms and whilst from the outside the Burswood doesn't look over large, believe me it's a bit of a 'TARDIS' and I'm sure that even Doctor Who would get easily lost inside as many guest have already found.
The 'Burswood' is now a Guest House / Bed & Breakfast, designed to very high standards of decoration, furniture and fittings equal to the grandest of many palaces, nothing has been spared. We offer only the very best and whilst you can't turn the clock back, we've often wondered if Captain Riley could see it today, would he have given it HIS stamp of his approval.
